  1. I was in Baltimore last weekend and they were respectful. They were also clever. One gave me a business card when I told him I don't carry cash so that I could send something to his CashApp! Folks who complain simply don't want to admit that American capitalism ISN'T WORKING if whole ages and groups of people are left out. Admit there's a problem, and FIX IT rather than calling these boys outside of their names.

  2. Are they washing with windex or just plain WATER or a solution that resembles windex? WAKE UP cars come equip with self-washing system and do NOT need you out there! I have heard MAJOR issues with these "KIDS" or young adults and if you do not comply they KEY your vehicle and you must give them more than $1 for watered down windex!!!! The cops cannot stop them…

  3. shouldn’t be able to buy a bape designer backpack by washing windows. seems sketchy

  4. It’s horrible!!! My partner and I went in right by Fells Point, and they stopped traffic on Pratt street and they hit our car with the bottle and the other squirted one man in the face that was in the car beside us! Terrible town!!! We’ll never go back to B’more!! Those “kids” try to FORCE people to do it or else!!! Keep lettin em do it!! Idiot ass town! DC don’t put up with that crap! Entrepreneurs my ass, it’s thugs!!!!

  5. My friend say NO and had her window smashed. SHE got out and they ran her over with a motorcycle. She went to hospital. Her son and mother were in the car just trying to go to the doctor. It’s illegal what they are doing, it needs to stop!

  6. They are not working in a mutual agree to job, they come up to your car and start squeegeeing it without your permission, after they are done they demand payment or hit your car with their squeegees.

  7. No I don’t feel u. Go home and read a book. My parents were poor. Would’ve whipped my behind if i was out harassing and assaulting people like this. No I’m. Not co-signing on this bs

  8. One advice to the squeegee kids. Take that money your making from cleaning car windows, go get some business cards, some real tools, washers and squeegees from lowes, a 12 ft extention pole, a bucket of water, a few drops of dawn dish soap, and some towels to detail and clean the window sills.
Stay away from the busy intersections and traffic. Go out and clean storefront businesses, restaurants, homes. All windows need to be cleaned. Can charge much more then $1 per windshield. Watch some window cleaning videos on youttube. My brother and i started our janitorial service with window cleaning. You wont regret it guys. Take it serious, dont give up. Do good qauilty work, be professional, get some uniforms made eventually. Put your everything in it. You guys seem like you enjoy squeegeing windshields. You will love window cleaning. Good luck my young brother

  9. What would happen if everyone pepper sprayed squeegee kids instead of allowing them to extort money? DPS, Sabre Red, and Fox Labs make some of the hottest sprays that can be purchased online, wink-wink!

It could be justified as self defense do drivers may be justified.

  10. They also have to learn to accept no, I have seen those kids spreading people side windows when they say no. Before even talking to drivers, they start spreading your car. They are right, to get respect , you need to give. They need to give that respect first if they want to be an entrepreneur

  11. Driving to the city today. Stop at a stop light. Was approached by a young man. "Squeegee Kid". Wave my arms signalling, "No". He went ahead and cleaned my windshield. Regardless of me waving my arms saying "no, no, no!". He is finished. Starts yelling at me with my window rolled up. I tell him I don't carry cash and didn't want the service to begin with(through the glass). Doesn't stop. I crack my window. "Hey man I'm workin hard out here man!" I respond, "I don't carry cash man, I'm sorry!". Squeegee continues to persist. I think, "Is it worth my car getting damaged or to give the kid my change?" Give the kid my change ($0.37) and drive on. Rather pay the tunnel fare than this bs.

  12. Well…
This is what'll happen nationwide as cities and states hike minimum wages to as high as $15/hr and it's ripple effect on the wage chain on up.

    At that point.
With more and more investment in machine automation and streamlining operations in the workplace.
At a pay rate that high.
No one is going to hire kids with no training or experience anymore.
    Relatively soon…
Teen unemployment will ultimately hit the triple digits.

  13. Kids sell candy on the trains in NY too for "fundraisers"- the point is our system has been broken for so long NOBODY IS SHOCKED KIDS ARE FORCED TO WORK ON THE STREETS TO SURVIVE.

  14. SoB, this is the type of stuff you would see in poor/corrupt countries. Where poor children as young as 9, would be selling food in the middle of a highway at the risk of being run over or kidnapped for trafficking. These kids need to be learning and enjoying life, not working in these conditions

  15. Wow, this mayor is a pile of shit. Personally, I have contributed alot to these kids. I use to drive lyft in downtown baltimore and deliver for doodrash aswell. I use to keep my cash tips for these kids. I like their hustle. It reminds me of myself. I even see it as a cultural thing. And honestly as long as they are doing this, they are not involved in other nefarious activities. Provide a better solution to them or let them be. You idot. Has the ever been an issue with the squeegee kids no. So, screw those tourist. They dont live in the city. These kids do and that is a solution to their hardships.

  16. Squeegee kids frighten tourists😂😂 😂. Not a problem here in Downtown Los Angeles, tourist walk all day with indigents in every corner 😕

  17. I remember shortly after I turned 15 in DC, Mayor Marion Barry had a Summer Jobs program in which I took part during the summer of 1989. (I believe he guaranteed every youth a job.) I worked in a police station answering phones for about 3 something an hour. As a perk, on my last day I got to accompany the police on ride-along for about two hours. (I remember they raided a crack house and gave me a police baton just in case. I made sure I went in after they did, saw filth everywhere and that was all I needed to see to know the dangers of crack, etc.) Afterwards, for my last three years in high school, I actually volunteered there a few hours a month as part of my high school curriculum while working as a lifeguard on weekends and in the summers in a downtown hotel. No, I wouldn't want my kids cleaning windows at an intersection, but I still would like them to have meaningful work that teaches them discipline and responsibility. Just my two cents.

  18. Typical racist/bigoted EXCUSE : They're "afraid"… of what? POC? Kids?… Ugh… WTF!? They're just Kids! SMDH

  19. I applaud The Real News for bringing up such issues no one would do in the MSM. It reminds me an Irish radio program I used to listen to which would interview homeless live to ask their point of view of some government bills. Big ups guys. You make the difference.
