  1. Unions were strong in the 1960s. Gasoline was 20¢ a gallon… One wage earner could pay a mortgage and provide for a family of four. I KNOW! My father did it!
You folks are young, and probably don't even think about healthcare – until you need it. You will NEVER have a living wage until you get a single-payer healthcare system. The insurance companies will simply absorb every raise in your wages. Prioritizing fighting for Medicare for All will change your life situation FAR more than a "living wage" ever will. For if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.

  2. People who don’t even have stable incomes cannot really create a stable society, democracy, or economy. Isn’t that much obvious when It's put in that way? If you don’t have a regular, stable income or at least not one far, far above the poverty line, then you cannot really ever have much confidence. In institutions. In your life. In your future. In yourself. As a result, you won’t spend much. You’ll try to save but be unable to. Investing in yourself or your kids? Forget it. There goes an economy. You’ll lose trust in the system, Wham! There goes a democracy. You’ll come to see even your neighbor as a rival and an enemy for basic subsistence! There go social bonds. You’ll probably fracture into a tribe, riven by superstition, seeking someone weaker to demonize. There goes the last vestige of civilization, decency, and goodness. Yes, that much is what already began to happen here in America over the last decade. As it began to implode economically, social bonds tore, people’s faith in the system vanished and the result is, predictably, the flight to safety and strength in the arms of our demagogue. Coronavirus will act as a great accelerator of America’s decades-long invisible depression for the average person and maybe finally make it visible, too, that way. The really tragic thing, though, is that it didn’t have to end this way. All it would have taken is what Keynes discovered a century ago. Investment on a massive scale, in people, in businesses, in families, at the same scale and scope of a catastrophe. Our American government, instead, did just the opposite and offered just one week of support. The rest, as they’ll say, is…history.

  3. Lazy Union Scum!
A whole panel of people who need to actually do some work instead of rocking the boat.
This segment is disgusting with the spread of Union rhetoric and bull jiving. Unions only inflate the cost of doing business, decrease production, and promote mediocrity- selfish Assholes!!

  4. These people are making my heart soar! I'm so sick of working class poor getting screwed by capitalism.
Chris Smalls should be wearing a cape. ✊💪💕 And take a much needed nap! 🛌 Thank you Chris.
