Throughout the Ukraine war, Western news outlets have mindlessly parroted the opinions of a ruling elite and overseen a public discourse that is often unhinged from the real world.

Patrick Lawrence was a correspondent and columnist for nearly 30 years for the Far Eastern Economic Review, the International Herald Tribune and The New Yorker. He is the author of Somebody Else’s Century: East and West in a Post-Western World and Time No Longer: America After the American Century.

  1. Wait!!! Hollluppp… So you're saying, the Ukrainians are using the VERY methods that israelis been claiming hamas are doing in gaza…???

Well, whatchu gotta say now, biden..?? 😂😂

  2. CONFIDENCE IS OF THE ESSENCE URGENTLY REQUIRED FOR MAKING DECISIONS. ESPECIALLY IN TIMES OF WAR AND NATIONAL SECURITY IS IN DANGER.

It is not good enough for Congress to be either unable or unwilling, waste time over matters of leadership. Therefore, in the circumstances of "NO CONFIDENCE", time for a General Election must be immediately brought forward for the "ULTIMATE SOVEREIGNTY" of "WE THE PEOPLE" to decide on who should be "THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF."

  3. I think that the Russians have been very truthful so far, which is not usual, but for good reason – they know, the huge amount of media, against them, so they want, to be as truthful AS THEY CAN, when they can, and show us that there are some politicians that speak the truth out there. At the very least, there would be more Americans giving up on the neocons, if they were able to hear Putin every now and then, Which there isn't a chance in hell of happening atm

  4. 🙏🙏🙏Can we still trust journalism with all the propaganda and manipulation since the media is meanly ownded by wealthy people like R Murdoch.?

  5. The thing is, we know they're lying, and they know that we know! So what's the point? You had the EXACT same phenomenon in the Soviet Union! Exactly the same!

  6. A true patriot not just to the uk people , but to the injustice of those who have no voice in politics today,
a man that won't be silenced, and who stands up when all others walk away in fear of retribution, this may seem to be a small step ,however history I'm sure will judge this man to have walked in the foot steps of history's greatest

  7. They are, Them, They and Those who are working with their father😈'to control the world before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us pray 🙏🏽

  8. Ukranians and white khazars in israel hate negro people. Why would i EVER support people that want me and my people dead even tho we have never done them nothing?????????? Thats so disrespectful to expect us to give a care.. its ridiculous at the least!

  9. Ukrainian politicians have made the biggest mistake in 21st century. We will know the truth in coming years. The western public have been made fools, the taxpayers money as always been wasted on nothing

  10. Did Ukraine invade Russia or Russia invade Ukraine….am I missing something here?
Chris's quote of ……one the most corrupt countries in the world……was that under Russian puppet rulers or just when Zelensky came to power? Patrick says lies of omission are equally as bad as direct lies. True, Chris. I think you omitted context a couple of times and if the largest country in the world with one of the largest armies invades your country, do you lie down & accept your fate or use every means possible to repel the invaders. Russian shd not bomb civilians, its a war crime. If you cannot condem that, apart from the Amnesty Report, then you will find it hard to condem Israel's murderous bombing of Gaza at the moment. And yes, Hamas are murderers too.

  11. "WAR is a RACKET. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives." – USMC Major General Smedley Butler (1935)

  12. My generation, post-Watergate, tended to see journalism as a 'white knight' profession full of brave truth-bringers. This was always a naive and over-optimistic view, but it is dispiriting to see how low the BBC in particular has sunk., It is now just the government's pliant mouthpiece, vacuously repeating the official narrative and carefully avoiding any awkward contact with the truth.

  13. You a conflict with two sides. One side reveals all wartime information to their people and only intercepts enemy information that is blatantly false. The other side in this conflict largely releases positive information to their people, with limited access to losses, setbacks and any possible war crimes committed by their own people while using the enemy's own media coverage to amplify that enemy's losses, setbacks and war crimes to both sides with very few restrictions. They perhaps even can get some false narratives through to the other side due to looser media controls. In today's world where information moves as fast as it does, if it is unrestricted, who do you think wins this conflict? It is good to have some who hold or attempt to hold both parties in the conflict accountable for their actions but don't pretend media freedom will make public decisions more logical. In today's world information bullets can hit harder than real ones when deciding the outcome of a conflict. If you could get both sides to play by the same rules this conflict probably wouldn't happen in the first place.

  14. The fact you re all arguing their govs are better than another is laughable.. Every western countries governments are guilty of war crimes.. Look up the true definition of Govern-men-t. Wake up people.. Only pwrson that should help you live your life is our Lord and Xaviour Jesus Christ.. we are all sinners and deserve to go to hell.. He died on the cross for our sins..

  15. Because the media are controlled by the same people funnelling corrupt dirty millions to the corrupt gov that the U.S corruptly got elected to funnel money for child trafficking and bio labs.

  16. Yeah I noticed that too when Trudeau speaks for Canadians and meanwhile we all disagree with him on many things LOL They all do it that’s what they do to protect their own interests
