5. The reality is that the current political dissonance is unlike any in recent history. The internet has given a voice to extremists and mobs, and the general populous has followed suit by picking a side and sticking with it. While I'd like to think we could resolve these difference peacefully one day, I can't actually point you to any point in history where this kind of division was solved without conflict. War is inevitable, it's a question of when, not if.
