  1. 😊😊I'd encourage the distribution of this video far and wide. Its contents are an excellent example of the importance of knowing the background upon which we need to view such stories. Without having an idea of what happens before such events, we believe the worst about those who appear to be responsible. In many ways, the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi, is a metaphor for the reality of the actual condition of the country, if not indeed, for the entire world of humanity.

The resources and control of the quality of our lives are driven by those who do not have the best interest of society in mind.😏💔🍀

And last but not least, we already know that there are movements afoot to prevent us from knowing about "what happened to black people." Now, isn't this an excellent title for a video? The next great title could be "what happened to us people." We "native" blacks are still here, but some believe we barely hold on.💯💯

  2. A few years ago, Flynt MI had contaminated water which they suspected was from Lead poisoning from chemical pollution from industry.

My opinion was organic solvents contamination and not Lead. IDK how it was resolved after that. Racism wasn't a part of the complaint of the working people involved.

  3. In 1973 the City of Jackson Engineering department reported that the water mains that had been installed by the WPA during the depression needed to be replaced and upgraded. The failure of the City Council to actually care for the infrasturcture is r;eprehensible if not criminal.
In 1976 the massive flooding proved that the floodwater management program that tthe Ross Barnett Resevoir was supposed to alieviate was insufficient.
Starting in the 1980s, the City of Jackson started outsourcing city services and doing away with the problematic departments like City Engineering to supposedly save money.
The problem in Jackson is an endemic problem with governments based on nepotistic incompetance. The Federal money to help with the problems has been available again and again but the City Council spends it on capitol projects they can hand a name on and not taking care of the bones of the issue. Jackson's metropolitan area has a population over a million in the 1980s and had the money to systematically repair and upgrade systems. The greed of the City Council in regards to raising taxes and squandering the fiscal base drove businesses out of the city and the people followed the jobs.
And, there is a pattern of getting matching grants from the Federal Government and either not providing matching funds for a project or letting tyhe contract to do the work to companies that never actually perform the work.
Don't forget that the districts in Mississippi have been gerrymandered for decades to keep the blue dog democrats in power. The problems in a major part come from decades of public funds disappearing into a pork barrel.

  4. I watched the video before committing; I would like some clarification please: Mr.Akuno, you stated in a city controlled by Black politicians, and Majority Black population for over 40 years RACISM and not miserably mismanagement is to blame for crippling infrastructure failure that has deteriorated over the last 40 years. How do you justify that statement?

  5. The City of Jackson, MS needs to consider sending China and Sweden a RFP for fixing Jacksons water system system, both are on the cutting edge of designing state of the art water treatment systems.
China saved San Francisco hundreds of millions of dollars building the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and have won contracts to helpNew York renovate its subway system, refurbish the Alexander Hamilton Bridge over the Harlem River and build a new Metro-North train platform near Yankee Stadium.
    Never ever Privitize!!!

  6. That said, I do wish Jackson the best.
You do have prominent Black folk sitting there being silent.
Also, this is what happens when people don't vote. You don't have to be a majority to employ the "tipping point"

  7. WAIT….WAIT … WAIT my brother, BLACK CHRISITAN women like myself DO NOT support Toni Morrison delving into legal rape (adult with a minor student) or homosexuality. Toni was respected "back in the day" but noooo, we DO NOT support her based on morals & religion. So, You do NOT speak for me or my educated circles on that note

  8. DO NOT LET THEM CONTROL YOUR WATER. This is the CURRENT phase of the Re-Set WEF crowd and is happening ALL OVER THE WORLD. They are LYING and claiming they need to PRIVATIZE WATER due to Mismanagement/ Climate change when that is simply another ruse to take over the MOST VITAL SUBSTANCES KNOWN TO MAN – FOOD AND WATER.
DONT LET THEM LIE AND SUPPORT THE FILTHY OIL INDUSTRY – they CHOSE to stay with the dirtiest fuel when they could have lead the world in alternatives like TIDE-POWER and GEO-THERMAL "EARTH HEAT" harvesting which is reliable and cheap, and is a PERFECT "BASE" load.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS OF MAKING ELECTRICITY NOW – THE OIL COMPANIES ARE PLAYING US – there was NEVER any need for oil prices to rise like they did. That is the WEF/BLACKROCK draining us all dry before they swoop in with their 50 BILLION dollars in "NEW YORK'S PENSION MONEY" and scoop up our underwater homes.
CLIMATE CHANGE IS A MASSIVE THREAT BUT NONE OF THEIR "SOLUTIONS" WILL HELP US – they are trying to get us to BEG to be saved and they think they can BULLY US DOWN A DARK PATH WHERE THE MANY ARE CONTROLLED BY THE FEW and we go BACK TO COAL.

  9. My God, they are sending BILLIONS of Dollars EVERY DAY to the Ukraine so the crazy NASSI's can blow up a massive NUCLEAR PLANT and DESTROY OUR ATMOSHERE FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS. Oh well.

  10. BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW , THAN THE DEVIL YOU DON’T ! :

Yes Marc , it could happen to the entire nation , as you put it avoiding the mainly important issues of terrorism practiced cleverly on one’s own citizens , and clearly hidden from most of the fools within that so-called civilized society .

In reality It’s solely and only about anti Black racism , or a confirmation why we shouldn’t teach CRT .

Nice trying in avoiding that CRT point , but no cigar ! Keep trying , you’ll be successful one day (in this life or into that life or lives to come) .

Need we say more ? B1 . Amin and Shalom .

  11. OMG this is just so selfish. Why can't these people understand that 'Ukraine' is the priority right now. Years from now, when the war in Ukraine is eventually over and the MIC people have made their money,' then we can start thinking about Jackson – maybe.

  12. There are no more, or less, raw materials whether you can pay for them or not. This is miss management. Criminal miss management.

  13. Trust me
Soon no one will be interested in money, houses, cars and presidents , religions or military or kings, anymore. ☝️👍🏾

  14. I'm so glad you talk about the importance of local and state elections. These are the elections that people overlook but are vital to whether a city thrives or fails. The loss of federal funds under this corrupt Governor's term and inability of cities to raise revenue without state legislative approval is criminal – and nobody talks about it – except progressive channels. Corporate-owned media chooses to ignore or paint a deceitful picture of Jackson. Thanks so much for posting this. Great to hear the truth.

  15. The more things change the more things remain the same .

Need we who’ll continue to be of those of wise and righteous striving will say more ? B1 . Amin and Shalom .
