  1. The conflicts of the world are complicated, especially in the Middle East and North Asia. Different religions and ethnicities are struggling for power or just survival, whilst there is also the perennial problem of an ultra-conservative culture/religious mainstream fighting against modernity, which includes Universal Human Rights for women and LGBTQ, freethinkers etc. The main problem of US intervention is that they do not understand those conflicts and are therefore not equipped for solving them. They think a war and quick elections can do the trick, but no, this needs serious work. People have to learn to respect the Universal Human Rights of the hated other and free thinking and this process takes time and effort. The US wants quick results. This never works. People have to learn freedom of thought, unlearn authocratic, oppressive and theocratic memes that haunt their society. Only than can people live peacefully in a multiethnic, pluralistic society. How do we get there? That is what we should really ask ourselves. Blaming the US for all that is wrong in the world is not the answer. But the US has to learn the lesson, that quick results are no solution for deep lying and often very old conflicts. Structures and reliable institutions have to be formed, trustworthy juridical systems, schools, a welfare state that is worth the name, corruption and nepotism have to be stopped etc. That seems the only way forward.

  2. CNN and MSNBC need to stop virtue signalling while at the same time never mention the soldiers they want to sacrifice! And that's what they won't mention they CNN, are you volunteering our soldiers to die? Why dont you just come out and say it!

  3. Trump did exactly what he said he would and Americans voted for him to deliver. Now is the time for Russia to rise up. Which it is doing exactly that.

  4. Am Irish love Americans the last 74 years of US Empire have been fine always thought policy in Mid East was too pro Israel

  5. The US has too many conflicting interests in the Middle East. In software development there's a phenomenon called technology debt. After a few years of developing and updating a system, the original choices made become a stumbling block in future development. It is better to reset and start developing the system from scratch with lessons learned.

Maybe it's time for the US to retreat and reset it's relations with the region. As things stand, the commitments towards allies will increase the costs of defending their interests at the extended if US interests. It is time to accept that a resurgent Iran is a reality that needs to be accommodated. A confrontation will destroy Iran but it seriously risks the US its primacy as the first power and totally destroy the region.

Thus is nothing new, Obama wanted to do it. The problem is that there are private interests and states that have too much invested to give up easily.

  6. I think I know where this is going.
It seems to me most people are concerned that if the United States abandons the Middle East like it did Afghanistan in the 1990s after the Soviet occupation.
Some new terrorist group will rise and it'll result in another 9/11 attack within a generation.
I really don't believe it will happen for the following reason.

    Drone technology.

    Right now,
We have aerial attack drones that basically won the battle against ISIS. As you might recall.
Back in 2011, as the general public was against then President Obama's plans for major troop deployment in Syria. The drone program was heavily expanded. With much success.
    Eventually.
The U.S Military will develop ground based attack and surveillance drones. Ultimately leading to next-generation heavy duty bipedal combat bots that will do most of the fighting. Relying less and less on actual U.S troops on the ground.
    With the combination of-

    Ground/aerial drones.
    Facial recognition technology.
    Spy satellites.
Next-generation heavy duty bipedal combat robots.
    Strict border controls.

The war torn regions of the Middle East can be fully contained. With today's modern technology. The next possible Al Qaida could be eliminated before it rises and become a major threat.
That's the policy we need for the future.
No invasions. No wasting soldiers lives and billions of dollars on fruitless expeditions.
    Just simple containment.

  7. With trump ….. all roads lead to Russia ….. the United States decisions right now …… are all in trumps financial interest …And corporations have taken ocer our government for decades now ..we have fallen ..I'm so sorry

  8. The US government has a moral responsibility to protect the lives of people impacted by its policies.

It would be a first, in my lifetime anyway.

  9. Not to take Trump's side but he made his initial statement of withdrawal last year in December. Since that time the principle parties have been in negotiations. Various meetings in February were reported by Reuters though not picked up by anyone else. Trump's problem is he has no strategic depth in his foreign policy. Sec. of State Pompeo is a joke. And recently Trump was reduced to sending VP Pence to Turkey to try and salvage something from this mess. By now the world should be used to the dysfunctional politics in the US where the swing from Democratic Party to Republican Party produces neurotic policies with little actual continuity. The Kurds, angels or not, are merely the latest to fall victim to the madness of late-stage empire.

  10. The short answer is FUCK YES! Like nature reclaiming back ruins in Chernobyl, locals must pursue their sovereign right to make the hell they want. The US must aknowledge once and for all they're not welcomed anymore outside their own rotten borders.

  11. Bulshit. Yes we were wrong to invade Iraq. We also tried very hard to rebuild it. The Middle East is determined to blame America for everything in the meantime they are killing each other in the thousands. America is done we don't want to be the world's policeman we don't want your problems anymore

  12. The Middle East has been killing each other for years over various religious fights. America is done helping out people who refused to make peace and help themselves. Stop blaming America for everything.

  13. Trump does something right and the fake lefty media jumps all over him. WTF! Get all the US troops out right now. Let the Kurds fight their own battles. The Kurds will have to make a deal with Assad and the Russians. Finally, Syrian War will end. That’s a good thing!

  14. Yes. And they should. As far as troops are concerned. The troops haven't and never will fix anything. They are the destruction and the problem.

  15. Sorry but we've never "deviated" from our roots because we've always been a colonial power. Ignore our words and look at our actions (slavery, genocide of native Americans and etc.). As hard as we try to change our ways, there is always someone there to pull us back.

  16. U know who those r? They r the traitorous scavenger squatting Kurds who wud love nothing more than to steal Assyrian Christian n Arab shared lands!
Dare one Christian or Arab do that to U.S. military, but bc the insidious Zionists support the terrorists Kurds to tear apart Syria n Iraq – they have three balls to do that!!!
They want to steal Assyrian history too!!!

  17. Quoting the title for the video, " The US Tore the Middle East Apart. Can They Abandon It on a Whim? ". WELL, that's very much what they've been doing for a LONG TIME already, so they obviously can do it; it's that they definitely shouldn't. The West and Turkey, f.e., OWE REPARATIONS, plentifully, but since when do these powers care about this enough to actually do this? Not that I recall having ever really heard or read!

  18. The problem is that you expect an immoral person to make a moral decision. Trump doesn’t hide who he is. He’s been like this his entire life.

  19. That's what they do. Go into other counties. Find the weak points between countries who are in conflict with their neighbors and cause hell. Get what they ORIGINALLY went into the country and then leave themto their demise. Just like Vietnam. Got they ass handed to them and still continue the same method everywhere they seek profit. These people (world leaders) are evil and only wish to set the earthon fire.

  20. US military industrial complex and imperial machine is backed by a slash and burn doctrine of cut and run. We must stop that in our streets.

  21. Not without consequences.
All these idiots yelling " just leave " are gonna be the 1st ones crying when the newly revitalized ISIS is launching attacks on American soil after being giving so much space and opportunity .
