Why did those Eastern European countries didn't fall back into USSR's orbit? Why? Ever ask that obvious question? I mean, you people talk as if Russia is a bastion of progress and economical prosperity. Then why on earth every single country in the Eastern Europe decided to join the West? Because Putin has been dictating its corrupt governing ideology to them which resulted in subjugation.
Then there is a question of a country's self determination. These people talk as if every country other than Russia has the right to choose, and has to fall in line to worship at the altar of Putin. Said who? Why would you even accept that view to think, "Oh ya! Putin had the right to do this." No, he did not. People, or at least good portion of their population, wanted to be aligned with the west, as they see it as a better option for them.
It's a question of dealing with an evil man and an evil regime. At least with the West, when we deviate, we have a chance to express ourselves, and correct the course. With Putin, you go to jail and tortured. Your life is ruined. The governing system over there is shit, and the sooner you realize that obvious fact, the sooner you see that Putin's alleged "concerns" must be resisted and countered. Period. The people of Ukraine, for most part, decided they don't want to kowtow to Kremlin. They got attacked. Many are dying and will die. And you people sitting there talking about the legitimacy of Putin's decisions.
This man is suggesting that the Russia Ukraine crisis could have been resolved by negotiation? From all the reports I've heard it seems negotiation was doomed before it started.
In my humble opinion the US engineered this invasion for the purpose of slowly bleeding russian economically and militarily with their involvement in Ukraine. Russia's Afghanistan sort of speak.
