  1. Trump is a idiot. Most homeless move to California because it's hot. You can't be homeless in a cold state. Most of the homeless in Cali are not even from there..

  2. Trump is the discrace with no shame acting like a despot dictator who has no empathy for people who are in desperate situation

  3. Lets see now,
How about making sure someone working full time makes enough to be able to pay rent, groceries, school lunches for their kids. Instead of a huge tax bribe to the rich political supporters and their corporations – it is really that simple folks.

  4. This all started back in the 70's when I lived there. More, and more I began to notice the elderly living on the streets. When I looked into it I found that the problem was due to the overtake of government by the property developers, and the rapid increases in property taxes. Combined, the greed of developers, the politicians they bought, and the developer tactic of creating property vacancies through political graft to get property taxes increased, was nothing more than kicking people to the curb. Many of these folks had paid their houses off, but with their fixed incomes couldn't afford the property taxes, feeding them selves, and maintain their homes.

Treat the problem humanely, these are human beings. Jobs, job training, social services, financial assistance, and housing close to where the jobs are that isn't a concentration camp. Concentration camps are the norm for this blow hard President. Put people in these camps and forget about them they'll soon die off is the policy of this administration. What part of history does that remind you of.

The situation that is mass homelessness has been brought on by the greed of the sellouts in public office with their corporate libritarian beliefs, me first, and to he'll with everyone else, Period. This started 40 years ago when Ronald Reagan entered the political ring, and Trickle Down economics became the thing.

Fire your politicians that display these tendencies. That cuts off wealth and corporate control over your communities, and the country as a whole. They absolutely need these political soldiers to carry out their misdeeds on society. Get rid of the soldiers, and their generals will retreat back into the holes they rose from. It's truly at the point of us taking care of us as a whole country community.

  5. Our poor my friends just can't ignore. See I live out here in all of this mess knowing not how!! Take a guess!!
Still shaming an blaming the homeless or displaced?? Look all around it's right in your face!!!
Shareholders need Profit! More Profit!! They always need Profit. This is a big problem with Capitalism!! The worker can be replaced with a machine.
    Creation of jobs??
    Let's think about that!!!
Self driving cars, busses, trains, trucks and planes!!
Thirty Six million jobs lost !
Farm tractors, lawnmowers, combines, seeders, spreaders all heavy and light construction and farming equipment completely automated!!!
    Sixty million jobs lost!!!
Online stores!! No need for small local stores of any sort!! All in one warehouse with completely automated pickers and loaders of autonomous vehicles!!?
    Thirty two million jobs lost!!
Building?? Three D printers now printing super luxury condominiums and warehouses!?
    Eighty Six million jobs lost!!
Fast food and convenient stores?? Now are completely automated Do not apply!!!!
Groceries?? If you can't print what you need call a drone to your home services now available!!!!
And for the Great Capitalists?? Not much left that hasn't been exploited!! T
See we the people have no jobs!!
    Millions on the public dole!!
    The end goal of capitalism¿?
Was there any thought to what happens at the end????
People think of your children and the next seven generations!!!
Are we the living caretakers of this Earth?? Are we doing everything possible to insure a better quality of life for future generations???
    What is left???

I would have to agree being homeless myself. Everything needed for survival is carried on my back. Benefits of being homeless are endless. The most beneficial is the ability to communicate with and learn from thousands of others who have been surviving on faith. If you are able to survive without material wealth helping one another through each moment you will be . Why fear I do not choose the bunker mentality. I have faith that together we will grow a deeper understanding and follow the True Path .
I will not horde, steal, covet nor place Humanity in tiny concrete boxes!! I will love and nurture all of Nature

Homeless, Jobless, Cashless Materially Bankrupt? What's Left/Right? Who's Party? Will fix (our) Plight?

  6. It's A disgrace what the Republican party has done to this nation. And he fails to understand that too many homeless have come here from colder states, because of favorable weather here, and the ignorance of this stooge we call President, doesn't address the real issues concerning homelessness, like all Republican politicians. He is a gross 😝 man …

  7. THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH 🇺🇸🌎. !!!!!! .ITS ASHAME !!!!!!! . , THIS PRESIDENT , DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEMS OF THE HOMELESS .!!!!!!!! . OR TRY TO HELP THE HOMELESS .!!!!!! . MOST RICH , PEOPLE 🤑 ARE VERY SELFISH .!!!!!!!! . AND CONGRESS .!!!!!!! . THAT WAS POLOCY , DISTRICT .!!!!!!! .SHE DID NOTHING , YEARS AGO .!!!!!!! .SHE IS THE PROBLEM .!!!!!!!!! . AN ECONOMIC EMERGENCY . !!!!!!! . 😎🇺🇸😎😳🚨💀☠️💀🚨…..

  8. Jacqueline, I love you. I really do. But it's PacOIma, not PacOmIa. Every time you said Pacomia was like fingernails on a blackboard. Aside from that, great article as usual. You and The Real News Network are awesome. Thanks for all your terrific work!

  9. I'm a big fan of Real News Network, but as with most (if not all) media outlet news segments on homelessness, it's always someone who isn't or hasn't been homeless giving their analysis and opinions. I would prefer if featured guests actually were people who are or have been homeless. It's always some non-homeless person speaking about the issue. When the average cost of rent in an area exceeds what a full time minimum wage job pays, the result is homelessness. Yes, it's actually that simple. Of course there will always be other contributing factors that differ from place to place, but the main cause remains the same.

  10. Homelessness is not a housing issue. It’s a drug addiction and mental health issue. Many if not most of them lost homes and/or lost their jobs due to drug addiction or mental illness.
Give them a home, they don’t want it if it comes with bills, rent, responsibilities, daily chores.
They choose to live like that so they can continue in their addiction or refusal to cooperate with the plan of care and treatment for mental illness🥺🤷🏽‍♀️

  11. I'm glad Donald Trump said something. Not just LA. But the whole LA County has a homeless crisis. From long beach to Hollywood

  12. All homeless people are black, all latinos are illegal immigrants. How do expect people to get offended by Trump when you put forth these racist generalizations?

  13. Im sure people wouldn't be so troubled if the inhabitants of the tent cities took care of themselves and the areas they inhabit. If they didnt turn them into disgusting shitholes and actually enhanced the community others wouldnt mind. Still, the neoliberal system is to blame for their homelessness in the first place.

  14. Hardcore Absolute Fact: Every ( living soul being has the right to eat clean food, drink clean water, poop/pee on demand ( if no access to bathroom ), shower where clean water source is (on demand), sleep where they please, etc! These are some of the many basic NEEDS to sustain sanity, health and spiritual well being!!!!!

  15. Gale And Everyone With That Silver Or Dusty Blonde Hair Witch Look Is An Alien. She Is A Part Of The Cause. Hidden In Plain Sight. She Looks Like The "Agenda 21" Witch.

  16. that's what cowards do- attack the poor, the victims of our corrupt society. Welfare for the rich, everyone else has to survive in this corrupt society

  17. THANKS TO THE BILLIONS AND BILLIONS GIVE TO KHAZAR>KIPAR MAFIA,AMERICA HAVE 5 STATES HOUNDREDS A HOMELESS, THEM MORE RICH,>THIEVES THE AMERICAN TAX AND AMERICA MORE POVERTY EVRY 4 YEARS, FOR LATER RUN JOKE TO THE HOMELESS.

  18. It’s getting so bad out here in California soon we’re gonna have to pay for the air we breathe!!

  19. It’s horrific in California, honestly thanks to all these tech companies!! I wish they would make a law where these tech companies have to buy so much property have some tall ass condos enough to staff their employees/their families no more no less.. All of this in their contracts were they have to live on their compound and have a set of parking all right next to their tech facilities!! That would eliminate traffic and that would eliminate the housing crisis.. They can charge their engineers whatever they feel is appropriate and let the rest of our community go back to normal rent!!
That would also give the whole bay area a chance to not have so much fucking traffic!! Because honestly this bidding war is getting fucking ridiculous, even the engineers can’t afford to live out Here or even going bankrupt!! And can we please do something for the bay area natives!’ Some kind of program to keep the original people that used to live in the bay area from getting pushed out!!!!

  20. NO! TRUMP'S A DISGRACE!! Housing should be a right not a priviledge! thank u Real News for this enlightening
interview! The reporter did her homework and she brilliantly connects all the dots to how capitalism marginalizes and impacts
repeatedly, throughout history, once thriving African American communities.

  21. Just think of all of those warehouses in and around Skid Row, CA and elsewhere USA that could be used to "house" folks … at least it would be an effort to reclaim the "beautiful streets of California" and beyond. Turn the SEAFOOD AND ILLICIT DRUG storage places into something folks can constructively use… Just another one "MY THOUGHTS>"

  22. No profit to be made from being homeless. Lots of money to be made from making people homeless. What David Harvey calls accumulation by dispossession.

  23. Take all the white homeless and send them to Brazil. The US doesn't need homeless people and Brazil needs to grow up the white population in the North and Northeast of the country.

  24. “We” aren’t going to fix anything, and there is no “our.” The only thing that could fix the problem is for people to stop thinking in terms of plural pronouns as the starting point to solutions. They aren’t. The starting point for solutions is to start using personal pronouns with ourselves and each person as an individual start doing things to solve the problems of the world. Eventually then – and only then – can it or does it ever become a “we” or an “our.”

But that’s never going to happen. Groupthink and Groupaction are too strong of forces. It’s only going to get worse and it will never get any better.

  25. But he has a point by bringing the subject up yet with the jobs leaving income not increasing and other Races coming here getting and living the American Dream paid for by the Taxs Payers
