The question I would like to have heard Weissmann answer: "Wouldn't a really Informed Citizen support an inquiry within the Justice Department looking into the establishment of the Mueller Inquiry?"

If Weissmann cared about Presidential corruption, he might ask why Barack Obama staffed his cabinet as he was told to by Wall Street, saved their asse(t)s, screwed homeowners and is suddenly getting a half-million dollars for his speeches. He might ask too why Hillary Clinton is not being investigated for the sale of American uranium to Russia, and about the quid pro quo that resulted in a Russian cash windfall for Bill. He might additional question the means by which Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Brenda Snipes rigged the Florida Congressional vote against Tim Conova and then illegally destroyed the ballots before they could be examined, as per court order… and why not even the Republicans are doing anything about this blatant example of vote-tampering. He might also ask how this same Wasserman Schultz, in collusion with the Clinton campaign, managed to cheat Bernie Sanders in the primaries. If you REALLY, as Weissmann demands you must, "care about democracy," you are not partisan about it. You ask that both major parties – and the Presidents spawned from them – be closely examined and yes, where necessary, investigated. Only caring about corruption when the other party is in office is the very definition of hypocrisy. That Weissmann echoes the patently phony and self-serving Clintonian cry of "Russia interfered in our elections!" when it was Hillary Clinton herself who was guilty of "colluding" with Russia and of rigging the primaries, indicates that neither he, nor Public Citizen, gives a damn about democracy, only about going after a President he and it do not like. I suppose I must insert here the phrase, "Of course I dislike Trump, and have for decades," or risk being accused of something, since we can no longer talk about how transparently corrupt the Democrats are without being called Trump-Lovers or Putin-Puppets by the New McCarthyites on the alleged left. It's merely that I don't, as Weissmann appears to, allow a loathing for Trump to control my ability to think rationally. Or perhaps he genuinely believes White House corruption only began in January of 2017? But to promote and wish to protect the likes of Robert Mueller, one of the prevaricating creeps who lied us into invading Iraq! And for an investigation that has turned up, in two years, precisely ZERO evidence linking Trump and Russia! This is precisely why so many independents now look at Democrats and think they've lost their collective mind.
