Well, Tariffs can fund expansion of Homeland Security & offset the outstanding costs of in-processing 1 million people or more.
As far as nation-state business model goes, tariffs become revenue streams to equal or exceed the ongoing costs of human migration and income loss from jobs and factories migrating south of the border.
Keep in mind the USA must boost the treasury one way or another before the whole government goes bankrupt.
