5. Offer the consumers only new products, because if they're not new, you can't keep their price high. Drain your consumer market of older, necessarily cheaper products, because that way you're draining your market of products total, so the consumers who have the demand are forced to purchase what's being supplied: the expensive stuff. When draining your consumer market of cheap products, either dump them to be completely destroyed or, better yet, "dump" them for profit to the-third-world markets. Then say, "greed is good" in Gordon Gekko's voice, and shoot down "the ideology of fairness."

6. these two girls are cute and truly beautiful. i bet they can afford food not in the dumpster. shame on the supermarket which would rather let the food rot than letting ppl make use of it

13. I've been dumpster diving for years..it's against my city ordinances but idc they can kiss it..I've found perfectly sealed food that was still good for 6 months..the food waste is disgraceful.

15. In the USA we have discount stores that buy up the expiry food cheap and sell it cheap — don't they have that in Europe?

16. Well, this is Merkel-country, "where you like to live and live well"…. (her campaign slogan). On the other hand, you are force-fed with state-tv which you have to pay for even if you don't own tv or radio. Some people were sent to prison for that. Media should stop celebrating this dame.

17. Throwing away food into the garbage is up to the owner, taking garbage out is not theft. If Police can pick anything in the trash as it is said to be "abandoned" without any court-order, well so can people. It is another thing if the trash container is locked and broken into…

24. I dumpster dive here in Baltimore…the veg trimmings and other food are fed to our chickens and building materials are repurposed for home renovations…Americans have a wasteful lifestyle!!!!

25. It's illegal to collect rain water in most counties in the US.
