The US is applying a policy of ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran, where economic sanctions are having a noticeable effect on the everyday lives of ordinary Iranians. DW’s Theresa Tropper talked to people in Teheran and found that opinions cover a wide spectrum

  1. Wow! I just had a look at Iran's central bank balance sheet, and it went from 780 (trillion) in 2008 to 6160 in Mar of 2018. And It's Sept 2019. I'd love to see updated numbers, but don't have time to dig it up. Iran has been printing money like congress. The sanctions are an effect, not the cause. Because the US dollar is the reserve currency, we can't afford to let governments game the FOREX. The same thing is happening to China. They attack our dollar, we attack their core. In China, it's trade. In Iran, it's money printing.
So we sanctioned their access to dollars, but left a loophole for their natural gas exports. True story.

  2. Iran will still be around long after the US Empire crumbles……along with those illegitimate oppressive states in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar and Israel.

  3. I have been an avid viewer of Real News for many years but have for some time now noticed a lack of direction lameness in ideas setting in but the use of DW, the Germán state financed overseas service, which has won an EU award for journalism is the last straw. Who made that decisión? Was It taken by the staff as a while? I will no longer be watching this Channel which originally showed great promise.

  4. You can bet the Ayatollah and his henchman are all eating big, and are wealthy. They have been stealing from the Iranian people for years, and I'm thankful that our great president dropped the hammer on the wicked regime. 👍🏼. USA first 🇺🇸

  5. Washington can take its sanctions bs and shove it right back up where the sun never shines; although, the sun ideally would never shine upon Washington, not until the US finally achieves good presidential elections anyway. The next ones unfortunately remain over a year from now, ugh.

  6. Sanction is a polite word for slowly torture and starve civilians to death. And Israel is just a polite word for Rothschilds.

  7. Interesting that you do not point out that the Central Bank of Iran is not owned by the Rothschilds, which, if you care to educate yourself, is the real reason we wage aggressive economic warfare against them.
