Once a month, 181 families in Caracas, Venezuela, collectively buy tons of produce, directly from a cooperative in Lara state, five hours away. The project, known as Alpargata, shows how the economic crisis is also building solidarity. Mike Fox reports from Venezuela

  1. we should stop using dollar and go back to using silver and gold if we do that they wont be able to make the third world suffer we have the ressorces but they decide how we live this is BS

  2. Why they can't afford to buy something as vital as food?
    Why they look so skinny?
Ok, yes, I remembered Maduro is a GENOCIDE!

  3. Fine report and these Venezuelans clearly have excellent spirit. It's welcome to once again hear that while they have criticisms regarding their govt, they're not going to turn their backs against it and (woefully) support Washington, as well as the corrupt "elites" in Ven. President Maduro hopefully will LONG remember this action by the good, sane members of the population and then properly address the concerns that population has criticisms about. He needs to be in equally good solidarity with the population, as the latter are among themselves. If they, with him, or the govt, would do this, then it'ld be a Wow moment or time, and what this video is about is already an excellent example of … Wow! The woman who speaks (with translation) beginning at roughl 2:10 or 2:12 expresses a wonderful view, saying that " the people will not turn their backs on this project ", adding a warning for Trump, that if he sends US troops, then it definitely won't be a cake-walk for the US, for there're MANY Chavistas and the US won't be able to stop them all, or something like this anyway. To learn of them all working in such solidarity is impressive and could be quite inspirational. We don't have anything comparable in the USA, Canada, and surely many other countries; many. There is a little, but much too LITTLE, here; ugh, unfortunately.

  4. Love it! Capitalism always wins. When you give your power away to government eventually the people out of necessity return to free trade and cooperation and black markets. And if you think the US government/empire is about capitalism you are wrong. We have the same thing in the US. Because they manipulate the money supply and spend OUR money how THEY choose, people are forced to barter among themselves and trade in the black market. We just don't have hyperinflation YET. If the US government continues to invade, occupy, manipulate and make enemies around the world, the world will return to the Free market and trade without US dollars. And the citizens of the US will too. It's already happening with cryptocurrency.
