18. While Britain has had its fair share of racism and slavery like the US to compare the two is laughable. The framing of this entire debate as a public health issue under the guise of mental illness is also slightly gaslighting. The whole gun debate issue in this country was founded on the extermination of the Native American and the damn near 300 year enslavement of Africans as free labor. Both of those things which are the bloody fabric of this country were accomplished by the gun.

    For the children of the person who broke into someone' else house, shot the family living there and put the rest out on the hoe track to sell ass so they could reap the benefits of the crime. Now you want to tell their great grands to willingly give up the only means as to how that was accomplished is a fools errand. At the height of Antebellum slavery 60 to 70% of the GDP in this country was directly from the labor of slavery. That money & labor built the railroads, towns, bought land from the French and made America.

    White people were already in England fighting each other. When the fighting didn't work, they caved in and brought the customs into their ways of life. Which is why half the shit we do today associated with Christmas is either Norse or Pict culture. England didn't really wipe out any particular group to take their land. 26. Sorry, I don't believe that anti-gun laws are the answer – it would probably make the situation worse in the US; this is not Britain and Americans are not British. Yes, there should be controls on purchasing guns and rifles. Such mechanisms such as bump stocks should be banned (automatic weapons are not generally available in the US). Although I do believe that there should be more stringent gun safety and gun storage regulations, socio-economic policies focusing on improved education, revamping technical jobs programs, apprenticeship programs, that target both rural and urban areas, focusing on boys clubs, would be a far better remedy for gun violence in the US,.
