Very insightful. The fact that the ex-priest said he cried after hearing of Hugo Chavez's death was deep and definitely gives a different perspective than what we constantly hear in the u.s. on the narrative about the Venezuelan situation. I think it was Plato that thousands of years ago said that bigger countries wage war to take resources from smaller ones. . .
Ironically the military arms purchased by Chavez haven't been used to protect against outside military intervention, not once. They have, on a regular basis however, been aimed and used exclusively against Venezuelans in order to repress the people and perpetuate a corrupt Regime in power. You sure you want to support that?
By the way: you will not find the truth about Venezuela in the mainstream media in my country, too. I live in Germany and you won't believe the amount of US propaganda that is broadcast over here.

I also cried when Hugo Chavez died. Right here in WA state. I followed his story daily for years. And I cried.
He says, when he think of people starving, he thinks Africa. (SIC). Ex president Obama was right when he says Venezuela is a threat to the US. Democratic socialism versus chronic capitalism cannot co-exist. However, it's the people of Venezuela that will decide which economic system they prefer.
