As Congress debates a $1.8 trillion stimulus package, we ask what would benefit ordinary people most: a cash payment for everyone, targeted assistance for those who lose their jobs, or corporate bailouts?

  1. "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of
their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and
corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of
all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent
their Fathers conquered…. I believe that banking institutions are more
dangerous to our liberties than standing armies…. The issuing power
should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it
properly belongs." Not my words, it is a quote from Thomas Jefferson

  3. "Dear Mr. Man,
    we don't understand
    Why poor people keep struggling
    but U don't lend a helping hand"

    — Prince Rogers Nelson

  4. Cash payment promised…then no cash payment….people get pissed… people riot….national guard….marshal law…..gun confiscation. Remember training drill Jade Helm? Troops return from Afghanistan…..put to use in the states. Connect the dots.

  5. Excellent and interesting, educational discussion! One thing I find a "little" odd is the immediate cash payments of $1,000 or $2,000, I think for individuals, followed by an additional $1,000 per month for the remainder of this pandemic ; for $2,000 in much of the US is barely enough for one whole month of being able to sustain oneself. $1,000 is suitable if the aim is to NOT help people to not need to become homeless; iow, if the aim is to encourage people to become homeless, of course without explicitly or openly saying this, in public anyway. It's better than nothing but only for a SHORT term, for the aid amounts should then be adjusted upwards, enough to be suitable for people to get by and this according to the costs of living where each person resides.

  6. I don't think you get it… We don't have the MFG Equipment or the TRAINED Man-Power to make the Ventilators in the USA. all the Manufacturing was Moved Over Seas. We are not READY because the 1% wanted PROFITS yesterday without cost, without Taxes, and to Make the USA WEAK for what ever they're TRAITOR Hearts Can Get!

  7. No no…the best way to boost the economy is for 1% to all die off from the pandemic….the monopolies will end once those headless corporations go under opening up opportunities for smaller localcompanies to fill the demand…..

  8. don't forget to check out this clip on youtube it's called…The SAFIRE SUN. Can humans really NEUTRALIZE radioactive material??

  9. 5 Major European Banks are now thoroughly invested in this "BlockChain". All users of these 5 major tech companies that combine for a net worth of 4.5 TRILLION$$$ should receive a Universal Basic Income. RESET World Economy and Encrypt EVERYONES identity.

  10. I hate these JACKASSES that say "we can tax them later." Where the hell have you been? By the time it comes to taxing them, they will have changed things so they won't have to, with our ASSHOLE president helping them out. My God GET REAL!!!

  11. Government should do the following to help both people & Businesses:
    1. Set up an ETF that can be traded on the stock market giving all citizens equal ownership.
    2. Government request Federal Reserve to deposit money in that and use it to bail out corporations by buying shares of those companies through that ETF.
    3. Citizens (in this situation owners of the ETF) can sell their shares on the market if they need funds immediately. The rest can hold on to shares for appreciation.
    4. This way some private companies can begin to produce essential goods & services and hire people providing them protective gear.
    5. This ETF then can be used to bail out any company as it would be owned indirectly by public.

  12. It wouldn't surprise me if Mitch McConnell plays upon the opposition's sense of urgency in helping ordinary folks and continues to delay by insisting on corporate bailouts. He is, after all, Mr Psychopath. Consider the following characteristics of a psychopath: Inability to feel guilt or remorse; Predatory to others; views others as objects for their own amusement; manipulative; tendency to disregard laws, social customs, and other peoples' rights.

  13. Uh, you can restart business after we get the all-clear; You can't restart human beings. Do we really want families out on the street right now because we decided to keeping businesses afloat was more important?
What a dumb thing to say, that people are just going to be buying more things they don't need if they get a cash payment. That's incredibly out of touch. The only way this quarantine will work and not result in a revolt and another spike in viral transmission is to keep their basic needs covered. Means-test it later and tax it back from higher income tiers. There's no time for that now. Folks who get it that don't need it very likely know someone who does and would likely use it to help a family member or friend.
Just think of all the good that could be done if the people who don't need the cash payments put it towards the homelessness crisis.

  14. if a solution is really being sought, and not just corporate democrats/republican-lite, corporate republicans/republican-heavy, playing lip-service, to appear as though they are actually doing something of substance, a resetting of debt, needs to be applied, a jubilee (biblical) should be announced, cancel all debts, $1.5 trillion, went to the multi-millionaires and multi-billionaires, and how did that help the economy? it didn't, it just made those who have, have more, they don't spend their wealth, they accrue it, if that mammon had been given to those without, and those with very little, it would have gone into the economy, and eventually into the bank accounts of the multi-millionaires and multi-billionaires, they would have benefited, and the usa economy would have benefited, win-win, what does the ruling elite have against the american peoples? they are only satisfied with their wealth, and their ability to judge others worth by their wealth!
