I believe that this will continue to happen with the American Lawmen because they have an incredibly strong union are given qualified immunity and are not held to any accountability for lying in court. As happens anywhere the vast majority of officers are true heros but there is a small minority who are willing to lie cheat and manipulate. I am sure also the officers are in need of intensive training on how to apply first the constitution and what rights the citizens have. And they should have extensive training in the law! I know that in most countries the majority of the officers have taken college papers and have are officers who are also member of the bar. It is these officers who should be in the command structure of any force. In saying that i mean that to rise in the ranks should not depend on the number of years service and how much they are liked by fellow officers.
