The rules have changed for the 2020 Democratic Primary to keep Superdelegates out of the voting process until AFTER all of the regular state delegates votes are counted.
Basically there was a compromise to not abolish superdelegates completely, but to limit their influence to a second ballot scenario wherein no candidate gets a 51% majority of the delegates in the first ballot (voting round), then the Superdelegates will weigh in.
So in summary, yes, the Superdelegates still have the ability to decide an election, and pose a danger against democracy since they are still allowed to vote against the will of their constituents.
It could be by persuading and paying superdelegates secretly . I’m a republican but I feel sorry that democrats may rig your 2020 party primary election by keeping these upper ruling members chose its own candidate for convention ticket

Elizabeth Warren is a legitimate progressive? Did I hear that correctly? This guy's got his head up his ass. They're clearly maneuvering for a second round. He's gravely underestimating the "will" of the corporate elite. Trump's doing just fine for the billionaire class, so they have no issue with Biden, Harris, or Warren (Warren, who changes her position with the wind and has proven to be a piece of garbage) being the nominee so that Trump gets re-elected. And if by some miracle he isn't, then Harris, Biden and Warren will tow the corporate line just fine. I'm gonna go out on the limb here and say that neither Bernie nor Tulsi will ever have a chance. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but the last time we got a president who actually worked for the people and marginally cleaned up corruption was Teddy Roosevelt. Superdelegatea are an obvious violation of democracy and should be illegal. Any political party that flouts democracy with such mechanisms should be boycotted.

There were something like 8 Dems running in 2008, 6 in 2016. Now the DNC needs to ensure Bernie can’t hit 1885 Delegates on the first round of voting and suddenly there are 22-25 people running? Seems perfectly legit.

For the sake of party unity, the delegates will give Bernie Sanders the nomination, only if Bernie accepts Kamala as his running mate. The Deep State will make sure Bernie dies from old age in his first six months in office, leaving President Kamala Harris to make sure the White House follows the policies of the Donor class. Bernie has a history of being agreeable, like campaigning for Hillary and pushing Russiagate. He will be amiable to taking Kamala for the sake of the party. The only way to avoid this scenario is for Bernie to get greater than 50% of the votes by convention time. That is why the DP has stacked the primaries to insure that Bernie does not get greater than 50%, and get a Donor class candidate in the WH, even as running mate. We will have another Obama, with progressive rhetoric. With the media's help, everybody can feel good by having the first woman in the WH, while the Donor class can still keep getting all they want. Eventually, the people will see Democrats as being hopeless failures, leading to another Republican takeover, which is the ultimate goal of the Donor class. The whole purpose of the Democratic Party is to kill any progressive agenda and lose to Republicans. It is Pelosi that is creating the party divide. She is doing the job the Donors hired her to do. The Donors will make sure she is reelected, because she is really good at making Democrats lose. Meanwhile, the more Democrats lose, she gets bigger slices of the Donor pie for herself. That is the formula for being a great American statesman.

Biden's been promised it's his turn. Warren and Harris are definitely plants to draw away votes from Sanders. Harris will be mostly winnowed out as the blatant corporatist she is, but Warren started out years ago as a true, supposedly, peoples proponent. That's right, this is one of the largest fields to run. In the past, any candidates that were not in the clear top 4 or 5 dropped out after the first major debate. We've only had one candidate drop out. So all the low hanging fruit, like it or not, is going to take away valuable votes from deciding on a clear candidate in the primaries, driving it to a second or even third vote, in which case enter superdelegates.
