Australians are upset about his situation. The U.S. government might release him to improve its relationship with that country. At the pesent time east and west are seeking allies and refreshing relationships with former allies.

My (Australian) government is complicit in the torture of Julian Assange. I am ashamed of my country. When called upon to stand up for one of their citizens, Australia has failed abjectly.
