New Mexico State University Police released the names of the officer and suspect involved in Monday night’s shooting incident, along with the officer’s body camera video. The suspect is 28-year-old Karsten Cuthair, a student at NMSU. Officer Jarrod Colliver, a two-year veteran with the NMSU Police department, responded to the 911 calls and fired two shots, one striking Cuthair in the right leg.

  2. Longer bodycam of this is 13+ mins long and way better. Two civilians (possibly military) who were fishing nearby heard the shots and showed up prepared. They cut away pants, cleaned wound, applied tourniquet, and israeli-bandaged the guy's leg all by the time fire/rescue arrived. Primary cop talked to suspect while his backup kinda just wandered around with an ar-15 for some reason. It's crazy to me that almost none of the cops in these videos ever seem to have a have a med kit or IFAK available. The NR/Game/F&W cops I formerly worked with always had a med kit in the trucks and boats with all the extras (tq, chest seals, quikclot, etc), ya know, in case they got shot or needed to render the aid they're trained to provide…
