Greeley, Colorado — Greeley police released body camera footage from February officer-involved fatal shooting of Ramiro Carrasco. On February 26th at 0113 hours an Officer with the Greeley Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting in the 100 block of 14th avenue. The original press release was sent out on behalf of the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). The investigation has been completed by the CIRT Team. The Greeley Officer has been cleared by the Weld County District Attorney in using lethal force against Ramiro Carrasco.
The body camera footage is now available, along with pictures of the gun in Ramiro Carrasco’s lap and on the ground after he throws it. When the officer contacts Carrasco, you can see the gun in his lap at 41 seconds and Carrasco picks up his left hand at 44 seconds and tries to hide the gun he has in his lap. Later on, in the body camera footage, you can see Carrasco reach down for the gun at 2:21 followed by the officer shooting Ramiro Carrasco. You can see Carrasco throw the gun from his lap and hear it hit the ground after it was thrown out the passenger door at 2:29.
