The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released dashcam video of a trooper-involved shooting that happened in Woodward in August. According to reports, Trooper Austin Ellis attempted to initiate a traffic stop for a seat belt violation. That’s when the driver, Arturo Ramirez, failed to yield. And instead of pulling over, Ramirez pulled into the parking lot of a Days Inn Hotel on Highway 183, where he opened fire on the trooper. Trooper Ellis was hit in the chest, but his vest stopped the bullet. Ramirez was shot once in the hand. From there, he drove off with the trooper in pursuit. In an effort to get away, Ramirez later reportedly crawled through the open garage door of a residence along Western Avenue, before allegedly breaking into an outbuilding. “A perimeter was established with cooperation from local law enforcement. And a suspect was apprehended by the Oklahoma Highway patrol,†Colonel Mike Harrell, with OHP, said.
Ramirez was then taken into custody. And Trooper Ellis was taken by Air Evac to the OU Medical Center. “The bullet actually did not penetrate the body, but there was enough force inside the vest compartment that it caused that fractured rib,†Colonel Harrell said. Trooper Ellis suffered a fractured rib, and internal bleeding. He is out of the hospital now, but is still on leave. “I tell everybody almost every day, these guys are my heroes. They face an unknown danger every time they step outside that car,†Colonel Harrell said. Arturo Ramirez is facing several charges including shooting with intent to kill.

The Officer gave him to much time! I would have shot after he had both hands out and pulled them back in!!!
They both need gun training when they are only 20 feet apart.
Being a police officer is damn hard.
Most chill cop ever.
Stupid ass vide not showing the ending
Too bad all police are not trained like this guy. That would destroy the liberals targeting of police
Aww man where's the rest of the video?
The first mistake was messing with the OHP; the second was thinking he could get away with it.
The car is a classic Cadillac however the cop doesn’t know it and he suits he’s Gun It wasn’t worth it
"Arturo, Cage, Cage, Arturo"! So long scum-bag. Glad you're ok, Trooper. Keep up the good work.
That cop didn't just drop him with that long gun?? Wow that's restraint.
Seems like playing all that call of duty didn't help his aim. That guy shot like shit. Obviously a good thing though, glad the cop is good
fleetwood is a good car
What happens?
I was so proud of this trooper. He had everything. He was steady as a rock. No panic, No fear, Stable and steady. But at the same time no Bravado. Im real proud of him. He's everything I think A cop should be.
That cop had to be a former service member. Dude was on point.
“The bullet actually did not penetrate the Officers scrotum but there was enough force inside the scrotum compartment that it caused the officers johnson to grow an additional 4 inchesâ€
Thank you OHP 🇺🇸
And just think. With Biden’s new policies, this is going to seem normal…
This cop is awesome. I like how he was relaying commands and talking with they guy rather than just screaming show me your hands show me your hands. I feel like that tactic doesn't work it just freaks them out
Thank god that Trooper is alive, he had an AR15 and had already been shot by the suspect. The chase lasted until the suspect got out of the car and faced the Trooper standing looking at him. It was at that moment the Trooper should have shot that suspect and not let him get away. The name of the game is end the threat…..let the Detectives come up and take pictures of the firearm along with the deceased suspect…..That suspect could have taken a civilian hostage…Trooper should have taken the shot. Just my opinion…Suspect lives to break the law another day.
Kudos for the Super Trooper. As for the POS perp too bad he's alive!
If I understand it correctly the media report I found says that the perp, Ramirez, pleaded guilty to a number of crimes and received life in prison with all but 35 years suspended for the most serious charge, then received more for the other crimes for I think 54.5 years total but no mention of those sentences running concurrently or consequently with the 35. Trooper Ellis's injuries also included a severed artery and a collapsed lung.
I like that he finished the fight before calling for help. You don't see it that often.
Another example of some hot-headed moron turning a warning into decades in prison.
I wished I could have seen him get arrested. Criminals are so dumb…clearly they never watch COPS.
