Louisville lawyers are going to bat for the family of a western Kentucky man fatally shot by police. The incident happened in Fulton and was caught on the officer body’s camera video. The footage was captured in January 16 2017. Police say 43-year-old Charles Christopher McClure was swinging a metal pole at parked cars and breaking windows. His lawyers acknowledge there was also a knife taped to the poll, and that McClure had some mental health issues. They say he was so upset, because he hadn’t been able to see his kids. When Fulton Police were called, McClure started to take his frustrations out on the chief’s SUV. He called for backup, then lawyer’s say Officer James “Buck” Buckingham showed up and seconds later fired two shots.

McClure died at the hospital. Louisville lawyers say his life didn’t have to end that way and that officers acted with unnecessary force. The attorneys also claim there was a cover up afterward to make it seem like Buckingham should have fired his gun. For those reasons, McClure’s family has sued the officer, the city of Fulton and Kentucky State Police investigators. “I think the brunt of the lawsuit really stems from the fact that after Chris is on the ground, ‘Buck’ comes up to him, and from point blank range, without any justification, no reason whatsoever, fires an execution shot,” said attorney Larry Forman.

  1. Again, what the hell was that. Way ott, especially the 2nd kills shot slaughtered the mentally ill guy. . In the uk the shooter would be in jail charged with murder.

  2. what the hell was the justification for the second shot when he was on the floor and not holding the pipe anymore? I'm surprised this never hit the news that much, but then again, the media pick and choose those incidents in order to fit their narrative, and ignore it when its a white victim.

  3. I’m most of the time on the side of the police with these videos. But this one didn’t sit well with me. That officer felt like he was itching to shoot that guy. And to put that 3rd round in him when he was already pretty much on the ground subdued was not necessary at all

  4. Yeah. Second shot was to kill. On the ground, already shot, surrendering, fellow officer in line of fire, near point blank. Get him off the force, unacceptable.

  5. I google this cop every once in a while expecting to see charges filed for that second shot but apparently he got away with murdering that guy.

  6. That was NOT an "execution shot". It was completely justified, given the situation. The criminal was getting back up to continue fighting. He was still a deadly threat.

  7. Damn what I find crazy is the cop didnt even give a warning….talk about straight up..steps out of the vehicle…pops the corner and POW!!

  8. Wtf was with that cowardly, execution-style shot? And directly at his partner? This guy got picked on in high school about a dozen times too many, and clearly has no firepower between his legs so attempts to compensate otherwise. Should be removed from the force immediately and permanently, with hefty fines and possible jail time.

  9. "Yeah ill let you see your kids, you have a couple seconds till you die so better make it quick and find em"
