After my interview the Lieutenant pulled me aside and said that's one of the best interviews he ever had…which at that point I felt pretty good about it… however I learned later on they hired a 22 yr old with no real world experience….only a two year degree…at 39 I served 8 years in the military as well as worked corrections for three years … only hypothesis I have is my age… maybe they think my best years are behind me…great video by the way …. be safe …

I actually had to talk to a firechief myself once, as i had to do a few assignments with them right after my work in the civil defense ended, and when he asked me if i had any allergies, i said not outside of being allergic to fire! I just told him, "Yeah, i get this horrible red rash and big blisters if i touch fire for more then a second or two…"

    He just blankly exclaimed that i would fit in just fine with them, as they all had that same allergy in fact!

19. Could someone specify on the hiring process? Do you have to take the civil service exam before you apply? Or at all?

    You worry about seeing a gang member or somone you arrested, seeing your wife and kids?
