Becoming a cop is usually a lengthy involved process. Both myself and Dave have become cops, stepped away from law enforcement for a period of time and reasons and then become cops again. The process is a little different second time around.

In this clip of the show we discuss the hiring process, polygraphs and oral board interviews and ultimately just being yourself as the key to success and a good fit with a department.

Feel free to ask follow up questions about the hiring process, etc. To watch the FULL episode of this podcast subscribe to patreon:

  1. would you be able to make comments on polygraph examinations and their reliability? i just recently failed a polygraph for AZ State Troopers even though i told the truth and even explained in detail anything that might remotely be noteworthy in my BC. I feel so cheated on and lied to about their reliability and now i'm blacklisted from that department.

It was only after that that i actually started researching about it, only to find out countless other people who had the same bullshit happen to them, and how the Polygraph really is shitty despite the propaganda from gov. agencies

  2. Ya say "can" but ya could . . . . big fan want resect ur right to make a buck. just wish I could see everything and my 12.99 mouths of youtube red could help more so you would no have too make it a pay to play. good luck brah, be safe out there .

  3. not to be nosy, but what was the slight reason you ( mike) wanted to be a cop again?
    other than financial reasons.

  4. Hey can you please do a video on the Las Vegas shooting? I live here and have a lot of friends who suffered gun shot injuries. What I'm hearing now is that people are saying that this is an inside job because the police are hiding that there were multiple shooters. I don't think the Las Vegas Metro police would lie about that and I think there was just a lot of confusion within all the chaos. Could you maybe talk about police protocol during craziness like this? Or maybe one Idea I heard that police didn't want to put out over the radio that they were on to another shooter? I just want to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you

  5. Hey Mike, what equipment do you use for these videos?

Are those Blue Yeti microphones? If so, what stand are you using for it?

  6. A polygraph is an indicator of stress rather than truth. Uncomfortable questions can give uncomfortable answers whether true or not. But if your in conflict between the truth and a lie, it shows.

  7. How about "I will not violate my oath", for an answer? I'm sure that the administrators, don't want to hear it. Can you get hired, if it is a truthful answer. (how about a clip or two about the oath)

  8. If life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are unalienable how can they lawfully take them away when they aren't subject to vote or legislative action? Unalienable means can't be taken or denied.

  9. Mike, I'm Not A LEO, Not A Criminal. I'm a Gun Toting US Citizen. 50 Yr old Veteran, Auto Technician Business Owner. I'm Not anti Cop. But I'd Never Volunteer To any Search. & I'd Never take A Polygraph. I would Never Talk Without a Lawyer. Name Rank & Serial #

  10. Polygraph has been debunked many times. It's just ignored cause police like science when it works for them. Polygraph should never be used as it really isn't accurate. Even the creator of the machine has stated this.
