I would tell these people who ask you why your video recording that your using the film for “police accountability”.. it will put people at ease, they are sometimes comming out of a traumatic situation so I think offering them the comfort will put them at ease. They aren’t usually so aggresive, and we don’t want legal trouble to come of it. Defamation could happen if a local paper prints a story regarding your story, and that person faces monetary or physical damage. Please speak with a lawyer in that regards.
