Subtle intimidation by law enforcement getting a complaint form

1. Bro, you went to the police station and made a video whining about the fact that the police were there.

2. What a dumb video. Why even post this?

3. Why did they just send the one out with the camera then and the other one stayed in the back you don't need two of them

4. They record their interactions for the same reason you do: a record.

5. In the computer age why aren't complaint forms in a downloadable pdf form? Then you don't even have to go to the station to fill out and file a complaint.

   If it’s shown that you do, you just made a false statement to a LEO.

   Another case of saying too much.

7. There's a lot of assumptions here on this video so, allow me to add a little perspective that might help shed some light. I'm a patrol lieutenant in a small agency (45 sworn officers) kinda like this one. Our body cameras cost $899 per unit, so this is a large budget item when you're talking about ordering $20K or more in equipment. It is more important to outfit our patrol officers with body camera's then the administrative officers, (who interact less with citizens on 911 calls). Also, when a person comes to the PD to file a complaint, we would rather have the complaint recorded so that there is no debate on what your complaint is and details don't get lost.

   Our department requires any officer interacting with a citizen on an official basis, to have a body camera activated. I would imagine this department is probably the same and this lieutenant simply called a patrol officer wearing a body camera to step out in the lobby and record the interaction. This lieutenant acted very professionally and in no way was trying to "intimidate" anyone. If a person voluntarily enters into a police department and then is intimidated when they see a police officer wearing their gear……they must live a sad life.

8. No complaints about these officers. No reason for two officers to show up.

16. You didn’t sound confrontational or having an attitude to me. Knowing how this usually goes down, you calmly asked why there were 2 cops. You asked them to make the complaint forms readily available for people and you left. They should watch other auditors. There are many auditors so confrontational I don’t watch anymore.

25. you must file a notarized affidavit and when internal affairs says that it was lost, tell them they can have a couple of hours to find it then you will post your copy of it on facebook for them to retrieve. they always" lose" them.

    Simply write your complaint on a sheet of notebook paper and hand deliver or mail it in.
