On September 22, 2024, at approximately 1:30 AM, an illegal “Car Meet” took place at 25th. Street and Washington Avenue, in the 17th. District. This “Car Meet” resulted in hundreds of people and vehicles flooding the 2400 blocks of Washington Avenue & 1000 S. 25th. Street. The rowdy crowd was vandalizing private property in the neighborhood. The victim approached some in the group and confronted them about the vandalism. The group turned on the victim. Punching the victim and striking the victim with traffic drums/cones. During this assault, some suspects were seen armed with firearms. One of the suspects, after racking the firearm while menacing the victim, discharged his firearm into the air.
