If you know the cops are surveilling you when you come out, try doing this: Act as if you don't see them, walk about a 1/2 mile away, take your keys out, and make-believe you are about to enter some random car while spotting them. Then immediately put your keys away and walk away from that random car quickly. These tyrants will run somebody else's plates and then possibly leave. If they then stop you after running the random plates to accuse you of something nefarious concerning you not matching the description of the owner of the random car, you can tell that the random car is not being used by you.
