I dont want to give people the wrong idea. Bad things happen, bad people are out there (including police). So if you are witness to a crime, what would you do? I didn’t call them, my roommate did….but I was the witness, so I was stuck talking to them. It is what it is, moral of the story, I am a great neighbor!

We seem to have the same problem around Christmas time so I always take my neighbors packages in and leave a note on the door. They come home either really late or not at all for days so I hate the thought of leaving them out and possibly having them stolen. I think my kindness is now being used but whatever. I don't mind being a good neighbor. It's funny that people would place multiple orders on Amazon Prime knowing they will be delivered in 2 days but they won't be home for a week.. What to do.. leave them and ruin their kids Christmas or take them in and be classified as the good neighbor. 😇

You did what a good neighbour would do; the only reason for the police to have your details is so that they don’t get a bollocking for submitting an incomplete report. Thanks Ms. Shark for being a decent member of society and also for respecting the actions of the person with whom you live.

What if you don't call the police though? What if its not you? What if you have someone on parole in your house and you know theres a chance there might be controlled substances in there that you don't have control over?
Worse, what if you recognize who stole the packages? What if you don't trust the police (which is understandable) and you decide to go deal with the situation yourself?
This is what the police have done to themselves. By their actions and policies and attitudes they have gone a long way towards making neighborhoods LESS safe. They've made vigilantism MORE necessary. This is THEIR fault.
