In the 3. part of Into the Abyss (Prison Documentary) the Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog turns a keen and understanding eye to the fates of two men who destroyed their lives, and those of others, by a senseless triple murder. He gazes into the abyss of the human soul as he lets the two – one of whom will be executed eight days after the interview – sketch their version of the events. “A poignant, lyrical documentary that ranks among the director’s finest and leaves the viewer with plenty to reflect upon and digest,” wrote Screen Daily

  1. It wasn't like a movie".Then there was a rainbow,oh,miraculously..from one side to the other…hahahahaha

  2. I love listening to Lisa Stotler Balloun. She is in so much grieve and has a courage to speak from her heart. The frames that are holding pictures are so touching..

  3. 1:04 what went wrong, "drugs and alcohol". No, what went wrong was the choices you made. Don't blame the drugs and alcohol. It's like blaming a gun, which has no brain, to shoot by itself. It's the person behind it period. And stop with the sad stories "how life dealt you a bad hand". While up brining does play apart, when you get to an old enough age, we all know right from wrong.

Great all of them in prison, lovely.

  4. Almost everyone in this documentary have been to prison….like it's an another dimension, where this is normal. Oh wait…..This is America!

  5. Lisa is an incredibly brave woman to have made it through all that tragedy, grief and loss. I hope she is living a good life with happiness abounding. I’m sure her children realise what an amazing and strong lady she is.
In total comparison to Jason’s nutcase wife…the only type he’d attract would have to be both daft and crazy. Easily manipulated & another life that waste of space is taking. Poor idiot.

  6. Give it time then Burkett's wife will be asking for a divorce, he'll take his frustration out on a fellow prisoner by murdering them.

  7. This guy is the worst interviewer ever!
He asks the poor women who has lost all her family “Why did they die?”
What kind of stupid question is that. He also has asked many other dumb questions through this who thing. He also failed to ask good questions. Smh

  8. What's up with her line of eye sight? She's all over the shop?
Ooh man. A Libtard? Was she his solicitor?!
    Bi polar.
I don't believe in big pharma, but she needs something.. or to quit ??

  9. Sooo excited at 24 mins in… finally, some common sense.. hee hee… murder for murder eah, Bruh?… wtf is so unbelievable 😂😂… u seriously askin…
    🦂

  10. That red Camaro at the impound, 10 years after a triple murder over it, is the US in a nutshell. Shocking poetry about a country with an atrocious history

  11. This sad little girl who fell in love with a lifer is lost. She is mentally ill. Obviously. Clear as day! What a sad situation. This clown gets life and dude had to die? Wtf. Not cool at all 🤮

  12. Michael Perry looks like he never hit puberty! He also looks like Jim Carrey's character in Dumb and Dumber, complete with chipped front tooth!
