No Americans were involved in this operation, it was way out of the American intelligence ability. Eisenhower and Patton first ridiculed the plan, it succeeded brilliantly and saved many American lives.

Great documentary, displaying authentic archive documents.
However, I'm not sure about this operation really "changing the course of WWII". It was a big help, and certainly saved lives, but the video grossly overestimates the number of German divisions diverted to protect Greek coast. Besides, the whole Italian operation was very questionable from a strategic viewpoint. Stalingrad, El Alamein,
Operations Overlord and Bagration did change the course of the war.
Mincemeat was a very well designed accessory.

My favorite is when Bletchley Park picked up German chatter that they believed the deception at the very highest level, Bletchley sent a two word message to the War Cabinet: MINCEMEAT SWALLOWED!!! What this show forgot to include was that there WAS a British representative present for the autopsy who nudged the Spanish along. It was also a VERY hot day with no air conditioning in the room so you can imagine the smell. The book written by Montagu is fantastic and really goes into immense detail and I encourage everyone to read it!
